Frankley's Te Puawai Band

Te Puawai have been very fortunate to have Jan Aiello take us for music and movement sessions on Mondays. This week we learnt a lot about all sorts of musical instruments and how to play them.

The children were then inspired to create their own band/music using whatever musical instruments they could find in our class.

Our End of Year Celebration

Dear Parents

We are planning an end of year celebration day for Te Puawai on Thursday 14^th December.

Due to popular vote by the students we have booked to go to Airzone (the cost of this will be covered by our activity fee).

We will leave school by 9:30 and return by 11:30. We then plan to have a sausage sizzle (sausages will be provided by us) and a swim in the school pool.

We will need parents to help with transport and some to assist us with the barbeque.

The NZ Navy Military Concert Band

Today we went to the TSB Showplace to see the NZ Navy Military Band.
We all enjoyed the show very much, especially singing and dancing along to songs we knew.
It was a great opportunity to learn more about the instruments in the orchestra .
Te Puawai now wants to investigate how we can make some of these instruments for our Outdoor space.

100 Books Read

Congratulations to Joyce, Tima and Hadley for achieving their 100 Books Read Goal. As a Prize for finishing this challenge  Joyce, Tima and Hadley got to make their own Stuffed Toy.
