We are a
Year 1 and 2 classroom and our teachers are Geraldine Irvine and Jenny Cooksley.
Our
classroom is named “Te Puawai” which means to flourish and grow.
We are a
collaborative classroom and have a variety of exciting learning spaces where we
can choose to work.
We want
to grow our learner agency. That means to be self-regulated learners who set their
own goals, and then learn and practice these. We can then share our new
knowledge and skills with others.
We can
all be "Tuakana" (leaders) and help others learn. At other times we are the "Teina", and require the help of others.
We celebrate
Maori and Te Reo in our learning space. We start and finish our day with a
karakia and a waiata.
We are
looking forward to an exciting year together.
